The Pentair Azur sand filter set is a versatile solution for cleaning above-ground pools up to approximately 36,000 liters. With a design flow rate of 9 m³ per hour, the filter set efficiently circulates water, making it suitable for various types of pipework resistance. This top-mount sand filter set is equipped with a 6-way valve that combines various functions, ensuring ease of use and optimal performance. This combination allows you to keep your pool in top condition, especially during the swimming season.

The 6-way valve offers various settings that regulate the filtering process. For example, the water normally filters from top to bottom through the filter media, while a backwash function ensures that the filter media is rinsed clean by allowing the water to flow from bottom to top when the flow rate decreases. After backwashing, the rinse function allows the dirty water to be drained. The valve also has a shut-off function to close all inlets and outlets, a waste mode to drain water immediately, for example, when lowering the water level, and a circulation mode that circulates the water without passing through the filter, which is useful when using chlorine shock or treating green pool water.

The filter medium can be chosen between traditional filter sand and filter glass. The filter tank is not pre-filled. Filter sand is the most common and most cost-effective option, but it needs to be replaced after about five years. Filter glass is slightly more effective and durable, with a replacement interval of ten to fifteen years, and requires a slightly smaller amount. This sand filter set requires approximately 65 kilos of filter sand or 58 kilos of filter glass.

The filter tank itself is made of high-quality blow-molded polyethylene (PE), which allows it to withstand a maximum operating pressure of 2.0 bar. This gives this filter set a longer lifespan than standard PE filter tanks. The set comes with the reliable Pentair FreeFlo FFL-051 pool pump, which can pump up to 12 m³ of water per hour and features a pre-filter to trap coarse debris. The sand filter set also comes with a plug, so you can connect it immediately.
